Accessing the Library
Everybody is allowed into the library. There are 170 seats spread over 3 readings rooms.

The library holds about 160.000 modern books, 1188 ancient and rare books, 650 current subscriptions to journals, 547 journals out of print or whose subscription has been cancelled, microforms, dissertations (for reference use only), CD and DVD, 5.000 sound recordings, sheet music and scores.
Most of the material is open shelf. Everywhere you can find maps of the library.
Materials stocked in storehouses (catalogue status In deposito) can be requested via catalogue ( click on Prenota).

Books are shelved according to internal semantic system, while journals are placed in the basement.

Use the University Catalogue for searching library materials.

Computer Facilities

In the library there are 19 workstations.
Some of them are freely accessible only to the OPAC; others are available for searching electronic resources and surfing the internet using the institutional e-mail address or and password.

External users need to buy the library card to access workstations.
WI-FI (EDUROAM) service is available.

Photocopy service
You can use 3 self-service scanning, photocopying. Use your badge through MyPrint service.

Users can borrow books, as in table below. 

Books must be brought to the information desk, together with the University badge.

A book can be renewed via Catalogue, e-mail or telephone, provided no other user has reserved it.

Interlibrary Loan
Our library participates to the University ILL service, coordinated by a Central Office (UCPI), located at the library of the Faculty of Statistical Sciences.

Internal users
The service is available to students, researchers and teachers belonging to the Department of Cultural Heritage: Archaeology and History of Art, Cinema and Music and to the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World. Before placing a request, applicants should ensure that the item is not available in the University libraries, nor in other Libraries of the city of Padua. Before applying a  request, please check the online Catalogue.

External users
The Central Office (UCPI) lends the material owned by the cooperating libraries to Italian and foreign libraries, only for study and research reasons. Requests may be sent directly to the cooperating libraries: books will be collected and shipped by the Central Office. Items must be sent back within 30 days to the UCPI.

Internal users
Document delivery service is available to professors, post-graduate students, researchers and students of the Department of Cultural Heritage: Archaeology and History of Art, Cinema and Music and of the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World.

Copies of University of Padova  library materials are supplied to other libraries or institutions. Photocopies of articles and parts of monographs are sent according to the rules of copyright (Law 633/1941).
